Let’s Walk Port Washington
To help the charming seaside community of Port Washington deal with parking and traffic problems Eco Leap helped Residents Forward develop “Let’s Walk PW” a web-integrated signage campaign to cue people that exciting things are closer than they think.
Clean Mobilty
Eco Leap manages the MTA Long Island Rail Road’s Transit Solutions program, educating and inspiring people to drive less and ride more. A signature part of this effort is Car Free Day LI, a showcase of clean mobility innovations with an emphasis on disadvantage communities. Working collaboratively with transit partners Eco Leap has helped roll out clean mobility projects on Long Island including Bike Share, Electric On-Demand Ride Share, increased LIRR service, Safe Walking Routes, Reimagined Bus Networks and the Transit to Trails initiative. With vehicles representing 31% of Long Island greenhouse gas emissions and traffic costing Long Island $1.9B and 93M hours of delays, this campaign has a clear message, “The road to a greener LI campaign starts with YOU.”
Eco Leap helped the Town of North Hempstead complete a municipal climate action plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2030. The plan was approved by the New York State DEC Climate Smart Communities Program.
People across the country are confused and lack trust in recycling and waste removal. Eco Leap created “Harbor the Heron” to help Town of North Hempstead residents recycle right and keep their trash tight.
Through inclusive outreach, a community wide survey, and engaging stakeholders Eco Leap helped the Town of North Hempstead identify key issues, perceptions, concerns, and priorities with respect to climate change in the town.
Eco Leap helps with grant writing for funding tied to climate action work.
